Chris Gerrie
Founder of CG Hockey Analysis

Chris grew up in Red Deer, AB, playing all his minor hockey there. In 2013, he won the Telus Cup with the Red Deer Midget AAA Chiefs. Following that, Chris played 3 years of Junior A hockey.

Chris began his first year of Junior A Hockey with the Olds Grizzlys at 17 years old, receiving a full scholarship to Michigan Tech, just two months into the season. During the same campaign, he received CJHL Rookie of the Year. Chris then went on to play one more year in Olds, before getting traded to the Penticton Vees, for his last year of Junior.

Following his year with Penticton, he started his first year of University at Michigan Tech (Division 1 Hockey). That season, Michigan Tech went on to win the WCHA Conference Championship. Following that year, Chris decided to transfer to Mount Royal University (U-Sports), to be closer to home, and get a Canadian education. After completing his last three years of University, Chris finished his senior year in the ECHL.

In 2021-2022, Chris completed his first year professionally, overseas with the Guildford Flames (EIHL), in the United Kingdom. Following that, he signed with the Dundee Stars (EIHL) for his second year pro, while completing his Masters Degree in Business Management.

After retiring in April of 2023, Chris started reflecting on his career while writing his dissertation paper on ‘leadership in sports’. He soon realized their was an opportunity to provide the youth of today with an unbiased resource and began creating this small business.
